Ready to roll

January 26, 2010

I’m just about ready to leave with Greensboro; I just need to grab some water, pack up my car, update my blog and look up NPR affiliates along the way.

My time here was short but fun. Gerald, my host, took me to a nearby eatery, where I had a damn solid veggie quesadilla. He, his roommate and I spent the rest of the night hanging out in their house, which involved watching a PBS documentary about Kazakhstan’s version of Itzhak Perlman and how he vindicated the nationally reviled “Borat.” All in all, a nice (and cheap, thankfully) way to spend an evening. I’m quite grateful for Gerald’s hospitality.

So after a full night’s sleep on a deceivingly comfortable sofa, I’m ready for Athens. Or at least as ready as I’m going to be.
